From
the Beginning...
Triune
Color remains a private company, owned and operated by William R.
James, its President and CEO.
Bill
James was a Journey Class press operator for Dupont and later served
as both Plant Manager and General Manager for a large Philadelphia
printer. Capitalizing on his background in manufacturing and management,
Bill James and three experienced partners opened their own company
on June 28, 1977.
Management
focused on accurate color and print quality to capture sales. Committed
to technology and training, the partners implemented a strategy
for controlled growth, including the acquisition of pre-press equipment
in 1989. As planned, the purchase became a milestone that catapulted
Triune into the future.
Soon
recognized for its expertise in color management, the company concentrated
on improving service levels. As a result, steady growth in the pharmaceuticals,
healthcare, and financial markets established Triune as a major
supplier in what became a highly competitive arena for commercial
sheet-fed printers.
Triune
Color also remained loyal to core accounts, producing color brochures,
catalogs, pocket folders, pamphlets, inserts, greeting cards, and
direct mail pieces for Fortune 500 companies, ad agencies, and design
firms. By 1996, however, buying patterns reflected an increasing
demand for improved services.
The
company experienced rising production costs, tighter pricing, and
the need for quicker turnaround. Digital services and communications
replaced conventional pre-press operations and continued growth
meant new online services and high-speed manufacturing capabilities
that answered buyers’ demands.
In
1997, the company relocated to state-of-the-art facilities in Cinnaminson,
NJ. Since then, eighty-five employees have provided integrated services
to clients throughout the northeast, i.e., web-based print management,
WAM!NET® capabilities, Computer to Plate,
high-speed bindery, and specialty packaging.
Today,
the organization remains committed to quality standards, customer
satisfaction levels, employee development, and forward thinking.
For thirty years, Triune has survived market trends, economic conditions,
government regulations, organizational changes, aggressive competition,
and growing pains.
Management’s
entrepreneurial spirit persists. The sole owner intends to expand
the company’s market position and grow steadily through continued
capital investment in new services and equipment. As today’s
print market changes, Management plans to meet those challenges.
Management
remains optimistic about the company’s future. As the economy
responds to turbulent times, Triune’s mission is clear –
to meet the needs of valued customers and ensure that service levels
remain consistent. Given its performance in the past, Triune Color
is equipped to meet that challenge.
